To celebrate the birth month of artist René Magritte, Birkenstock and Opening Ceremony have partnered to present a limited-edition capsule collection featuring surrealist works by the iconic Belgian master. Magritte's oil paintings adorn the classic Birkenstock Boston clog silhouette in two meticulously detailed reproductions: L'Empire des Lumières (The Empire of Light, 1954) and Le Faux Miroir (The False Mirror, 1929).

Referring to his famous work L'Empire des Lumières, Magritte once said:
"You can't see an idea with your eyes. What is depicted in a painting is what is visible to the eye—the things that must have been thought of. So what is depicted in the painting *The Realm of Light * are the things I imagined, a nighttime landscape and a sky as we see it during the day. The landscape evokes the night, and the sky evokes the day. I call this power: poetry."
