Atelier Alpiniste provides help for self-help

The upcycled cashmere scarves and blankets are made by older men in Nepal who unfortunately cannot read or write. Despite their advanced age, they continue to support themselves by weaving scarves and blankets. The scarves and blankets are elaborately handcrafted from cashmere using unused pattern pieces and leftover production scraps on old wooden looms.

This scarf was launched as a social project by Kay Plonka during a Nepal expedition. On the one hand, the scarf not only looks impressively good and impresses with its quality, but also supports the manual workers from Nepal and ensures them an old age pension.
